The Harcon Group of Companies, which is comprised of Harris Construction & Renovations and its sister company Harcon Construction, are a fully integrated general contracting company. They provide a wide array of services that range from general commercial maintenance to midsized capital expenditure projects. They have a strong commitment to give back to the community by sponsoring local sports teams and hosting events.

Despite the recent economic downturn, both divisions of Harcon have sustained continued growth and as a result exposure to larger projects and cliental. Due to their recent success, Harcon president Scott Harris knew that an image makeover was necessary starting with a redesigned website.

The new website needed to be modernized and less gimmicky then what they had in the past as well as staying accessible to the widest amount of web users. I decided to use a very neutral color palette that is mostly comprised of shades of grey. This allowed the text to stand out and the images of their work to come alive. The entire site has a very modern ‘magazine’ look to it and the integration of social networks such as Twitter and Flickr galleries, although not the norm for this type of site, have been a huge success in keeping the content fresh and relevant.
