Thanks for dropping by. I’m really glad you took time out of your day and I hope this becomes a regular stop in your daily routine. I’ve been toiling with the idea of starting a blog for awhile now but could never seem to get around to it until recently. I guess I finally feel like I have something beneficial to share with the world. Well even if I’m way off base, at the least I’ll have a nice digital journal I can look back on years from now.
A few years ago, after the birth of my beautiful daughter, I decided to return to school to elevate my awareness and to retrain myself to to communicate my ideas better. That and my career path at the time sucked. I decided that web and graphic design was the natural choice as I needed the tools to unleash the creative beast that lay waiting inside of me. I have explored many aspects of creative design from writing, drawing, and digital illustration to video production, motion graphics, web development and audio design. Geese, now that I read that back I should be getting paid a lot more then I am now with all my knowledge. For real though, all aspects of design are extremely important to me and I can say none supersedes the other. Usually a design I start in one medium leads to an epiphany for another design I started in another form. Many times I’ve begun creating a digital illustration while listening to music (I totally believe that music brings us closer to god) when out of nowhere a solution to a problem I had weeks before with a music track or web page I was previously working on comes to me. It’s this interconnectedness that keeps me constantly creative and ultimately satisfied that I am accomplishing something positive everyday which is so important in these current times.
It is my hope that this digital journal I’ve created will become an open dialog between you and me with the ultimate goal of raising each others consciousness. I plan to explore many facets of my personality as this journal grows. Everything from trends in web design, gaming (a huge passion of mine) Macs, tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way and other goodies I’m sure you’ll get a kick out of. Oh and did I mention Macs!
